You Can Find Me in the A….Weekend Guide to Everything ATL

Let me start off with an apology to our many readers. In the previous Weekend Guide I neglected to mention one of Atlanta’s most unusual events, FurryFest 2011. Have no fear, MacBeam and I stopped by to witness the carnage, and in doing so, we may have solved the mystery of the disappearance of our lost contributor The Juice (pictured left). Now on to the weekend at hand. Below are a few outings to partake in over the next few days, because you never know where you’ll run into                                     The Juice….

Come out and watch 9-SR’s very own Macbeam push it to the limit in this year’s GA Marathon. He has been rigorously training for the past 2 weeks, so your best bet is to catch him somewhere during the first 2-4 miles, otherwise all bets are off. The race winds through pretty much all neighborhoods in the city, including Decatur, MLK Historic District, Little 5, Highlands, Candler Park and many more. Pack up a pitcher of mimosas and head out to cheer/heckle this year’s runners.

New Release – RAC Volume 2

You may have never heard of RAC (Remix Artist Collective), however I’m sure you’ll recognize at least one of their remixes from the past few years. RAC has mixed some of indie’s top artists, such as Edward Sharpe, Bloc Party, Radiohead and Ra Ra Riot, just to name a few. About three years ago RAC released their first remix compilation, RAC Volume 1, and now their much-anticipated sequel, RAC Volume 2, was released moments ago for download here.

RAC Volume 2 features artists such as Phoenix, Surfer Blood and Delorean, as well as one of my favorite artists, from the great state of Georgia, Washed Out.

BTW, My name is Nick and I am new here. Hello.
