– gloATL, Little 5 Points
The dancers of gloATL have been entertaining random Atlantans via a bevy of free public performances entitled “Liquid Culture, a series of five Utopia Stations.” The shows, found at various public spots around Atlanta in July, kicked off last Saturday, July 9, at Sol LeWitt’s Stonehenge-like sculpture “54 Columns” on North Highland. Friday, July 15, gloATL dancers can be found in the windows of Little Five Points shops from 6 to 9 pm. For more information, visit gloATL.
– B-52’s @ Turner Field
The Braves start the second half of Fredi G’s first season with a free post-game concert by The B-52s at Turner Field, immediately following Craig Kimbrel’s fanning of 3 unlucky Washington Nationals in the bottom of the 9th.
Sunday, July 17
– Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, JCT Kitchen, 1-5 p.m.
One of 9-SR’s favorite eating places (JCT) provides a collection of Atlanta’s best chefs, farmers, and drink mixologists to blow your mind with TOMATOES. Competitions between collections of farmers and food snobs will end in prizes for best drinks and dishes. Music by the Spazmatics and Five Bone Rack.
– The Wooden Birds with TAKÉNOBU at The Earl
