If you are like us, you struggle for a good place to find a comprehensive list of good shows coming in the ATL area from month to month. 9-SR will try to do that job for you, posting week to week of concerts of note to look into. Songkick is a good site to set up your own calendar on, and you can view on of our contributors’ Songkick show list (in Google calendar form) here. Hopefully this can get embedded into the blog soon.
Wed., March 2nd
Adam Klein with Joe Pug and Josh Ritter at 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA. Ritter is always a good live show. Once saw him perform in full Roman soldier garb on Halloween.
Orgone with JazzChronic at New Earth Music Hall in Athens, GA. Funky brass-backed soul. Think the Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings sans vocals.
Fri., March 4th
Bright Eyes with Cursive at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. Will be there for this one. Never seen Conor Oberst live, but coming off one of his more palatable albums yet, should be a good one.
Sat., March 5th
Modern Skirts, Hudson K, and How I Became The Bomb at Smith’s Olde Bar – Atlanta Room in Atlanta, GA. The Skirts still seem to be one of the Athens-Atlanta music scene’s best kept secrets.
